October Rewards and Recognition

Boo Bucks
During the month of October, students could earn "Boo Bucks" for following arrival expectations on the playground before school.  The students that earned "Boo Bucks" entered their names into a drawing for a pizza and movie party.   Two of the winners were on a field trip during the party, so they received "Boo Treat Bags" instead.  We are so proud of all of the students that earned "Boo Bucks."  Congratulations to the students that won the party! Zombie Zumba

The students that earned 0-2 marks for the entire first quarter participated in a special Zombie Zumba activity in the gym with Mrs. Plato. We are so proud of their awesome behavior!  These students are considered leaders in our school.  Click on the pictures tab to view more pictures from Zombie Zumba.

Mustang Mall

Mrs. Lammers and Mrs. Jones presented the Mustang Mall to the students during the morning assembly on Tuesday, August 28th.  At this time, the students were able to get a sneak peek at what's inside the mall. 

 

Every Friday, all students will have an opportunity to spend their Mustang Money at the Mustang Mall.  There are prizes for sale for $1.00, $5.00, $10.00, and even $20.00.  Students can earn Mustang Money by following our school-wide expectations.  At Irving School, we expect our students to be Responsible, Respectful, and Safe.

 

The students will have their first chance to shop on Friday, August 31st.  Keep making great choices!

 

 

 

 

 





Early Start Program

The Early Start program was a great success! Forty-two Irving students in grades K-3 had the opportunity to start school early and get a head start on their school year. The program ran from July 24-August 9 and the students attended school Monday-Thursday from 8:30-11:30.  

Through the program, the students learned about our school-wide expectations. These students will serve as role models as we begin an exciting new school year. When you arrive back at Irving please check out the Go for the Gold bulletin board in the foyer created by JoLynn Plato.  The bulletin board features Early Start students following our school-wide expectations of being responsible, respectful, and safe.

New Team Members

The Positive Behavior Team has added new members for the 2012-2013 school year.  Joy Searby, Amy Hubble, and Erin Knuth have joined the team.  JoLynn Plato will also serve as the team's administrator. Welcome to the team!

The team will be meeting on Friday, August 10th at Irving School from 9:00-3:00 to plan activities for the 2012-2013 school year.  Some of the topics that we will be discussing are listed below.

• "Cool Tools" (Positive Behavior Lessons)

The Positive Behavior Team is looking for new members to join the team.    


We are also looking for volunteers to become Check In Check Out Facilitators.

"Egg-cellent" Choice Special Lunch

The students listed below earned the "Egg-cellent" Choice Special Lunch.  The Lunch will take place Friday, April 13th from 11:30-12:15 in the foyer.  Mrs. Lammers will call the students down over the intercom when we are ready to begin.  Please let these students know that they can eat lunch at their regular lunch time, but to save room for the special lunch.  Thank you in advance for allowing these students to participate in this special event.  We apologize for any interruption to instruction.

What's Happening

"Egg-cellent" Choice Week

Monday, April 2nd-Thursday, April 5th

By following our school expectations during arrival and the morning assembly, students can earn an "Egg-cellent" Choice Coupon. 

The students that earn "Egg-cellent" Choice Coupons get to choose a plastic egg from the "Egg-cellent Choice Basket.

Some of the eggs contain candy inside, however, some eggs contain a Very Special Lunch Coupon. The students that earn this coupon will participate in a special lunch the following week.
